It works in winter as a snow trek and in spring as a meadow-and-forest walk. The gradients are kind, the campsites are open and high, and the pass itself delivers one of the finest mountain panoramas in India. We base it out of Joshimath via Auli.

Short drive to the roadhead at Dhak, then a climb through villages and forest to camp.
Climb to the open Khullara meadows with the Nanda Devi massif filling the skyline. Camp high.
The big day: across Kuari Pass for the full panorama, then down to the Tali forest camp.
Descend through forest to the ski meadows of Auli, then down to Joshimath for the night.
Drive back to Dehradun, reaching by evening.

December to April. Winter is a snow trek with the clearest air; March and April bring snow up high and green lower down. Spring and autumn shoulder dates are also lovely.
Yes, it is graded easy to moderate and is a favourite first Himalayan trek. The views are out of proportion to the effort. Some winter days are longer, so basic fitness helps.
